The lack of sex education in America is creating a nation of stupid fuckers—and that’s a huge problem for our country.
It’s no secret by now, what with more than 77 million people voting fascism with a spray tan into the White House last year, that the American populace isn’t the brightest of the bunch. Considering that the U.S. isn’t even among the top 20 high-IQ countries in the world when it comes to math, reading and science, the revelation that Americans also don’t know jack-squat about sex shouldn’t surprise us much, but that’s the cold, hard truth, according to a new study from the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University.
Seriously, America’s old-fashioned sex education policy has prevented the nation’s diddling denizens from learning much in their formative years about consent, communication and sexual pleasure. This obtuseness toward orgasms—the notion that they are bad unless achieved exclusively on Saturday nights between a husband and wife—or even a basic understanding of reproductive health, unfortunately, has left most horny young whippersnappers entering adulthood too dumb to come—or at least too unaware to appreciate the details of a quality sexual experience.
