Amy Baldwin and April Lampert, the duo behind the Shameless Sex podcast, want people to make their own rules for their sexuality.
If you’re the kind of utterly unwoke guy who would listen to a podcast based on the relative attractiveness of its hosts, you should be ashamed of yourself. Well, you should be ashamed of yourself while also listening to the Shameless Sex podcast—like I do!—because its hosts are a couple of hotties. In a word, schwing!
In truth, Shameless Sex is well worth your time for a variety of reasons. While April Lampert and Amy Baldwin, who host the Shameless Sex podcast, are indeed blond babes, they’re also experts in their fields who both made names for themselves while working in the sex toy industry. April is a motivational speaker and sex toy mogul, while Amy teaches sex ed and is a certified somatic sex and relationship coach. Plus, of course, the ladies host the aforementioned Shameless Sex, a weekly podcast that aims to make everyone feel fine about whatever their (consensual) sexual desires may be.
“We used to say our purpose was to eradicate shame, but instead we’re talking about teaching people to work with shame about sexuality by having open, honest conversations about sex,” Amy says. “On the show we openly talk about sex in general, but we want people to become empowered, more comfortable in their skin and more proud of who they are, and we’re big on inspiring people to make their own rules for their sexuality.”
The women became friends back in 2006, when they worked in the same restaurant as waitresses. When the cheeky April nonchalantly shared a provocative story about her getting spanked at a party, Amy was (platonically) smitten.
“I was immediately like, ‘Oh my god, I think I’m in love with her!’” Amy says with a laugh.
