Riley Reyes is more than just a pretty face and a killer body; as chairwoman of the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee [APAC], adult-film actress Reyes is also a sharp-minded, passionate champion of porn entertainers’ rights.
In October, Reyes and APAC teamed with the Free Speech Coalition and its industry relations representative Lotus Lain for a pair of events aimed at tackling racism in the porn industry. Reyes hopes that the events will serve as a springboard to greater diversity and equal treatment of performers of color in XXX.
During a recent visit to HUSTLER’s offices, My Stepmom’s in Heat star Reyes discussed her advocacy efforts and her mission to teach the world how to have more comfortable anal sex.
“There is no guidebook for how to do porn, and there are so many pitfalls. It’s really important for performers to support and advocate for one another, because no one else will if we don’t.”
HUSTLERMagazine.com: What would you say are the important issues that APAC is tackling for performers?
Riley Reyes: Right now we’re very lucky to not be under attack. We don’t have to spend all our time fighting [the failed 2016 California proposition] Prop 60, so we can really build things that will create a better future for performers. So we’ve been focusing on trying to create mentorship, community events and even working on creating some educational materials that can be available online, so that even a girl in a model house in Florida can find information about how to handle your first anal scene. Or how to do your taxes.
