In 1989, XXX superstar Christy Canyon was riding the comeback trail, and HUSTLER was there to capture her return to the spotlight with a pictorial and interview that were revealing in more ways than one.
When the December ’89 HUSTLER was published, the busty brunette beauty had just re-entered the jizz biz after dropping out of it for more than four years. While that sort of absence might seem like an eternity in porn years, Canyon’s photo-shoot was proof enough that she was still in top physical form, while the interview—titled “Christy Canyon: Bigger, Better and Back!”—found Canyon speaking candidly about her past, present and future in the adult industry.
“Toward the end I got so burned out, nothing mattered anymore; I was sick of it. It’s not that I decided I wanted out and would never do it again; I just needed a rest,” Canyon said of her decision to bow out of porn years earlier, adding that her boyfriend at the time, who wished her to stop filming, also played a part in her exit. “In the back of my mind, I knew I would always be back in—eventually.”
