She’s a bit of a late bloomer, so it goes without saying that Cubbi has a lot of catching up to do in her pursuit of geeky goodness. HUSTLERMagazine.com caught up with her between theme park visits to talk about video game origins, Darth Maul and studying spells at Hogwarts.
HUSTLERMagazine.com: Where did it all begin? What locked you in for life as a lover of all things nerdy?
Cubbi Thompson: I’ve always loved video games. I remember getting obsessed with Kingdom Hearts as a kid, desperately wanting to swing around a keyblade of my own. As for movies, I grew up sheltered and didn’t watch Harry Potter or Star Wars until I was 18! Now I’m obsessed, but was definitely late to the party. What locked me in was the immersive world-building—I love that I can be a witch or a hobbit, even a Sith from a distant planet. It makes life so much fun!
Take us back to your pre-porn days as a fan expo favorite and cosplay queen. Were you really signing autographs and judging costume competitions? What cosplays put you on the map?
