Golden showers, swinging and a penis mold—and you probably thought that interactions with your family were weird. Meet the mother-and-son duo behind the Sex Talk With My Mom podcast.
It’s not exactly the career Cam Poter envisioned.
“If you told me in college that I was gonna be doing a sex podcast with my mother,” he says, laughing, “I would’ve thought you were fucking with me, and I might’ve had to kill myself.”
Doubts aside, however, for the last four years Cam has been making a living hosting a sex podcast with his mother, the aptly named Sex Talk With My Mom. Since 2015, the thirty-something Cam and his 60-year-old mother KarenLee Poter—actually, “sex-ty years old” is how Mother Poter describes herself—have released nearly 250 episodes of Sex Talk With My Mom, resulting so far in about 1.5 million individual downloads.
“On Thursdays we interview guests,” KarenLee says. “Whether comedians, sexologists, porn stars…”
“Our ex-lovers…,” Cam adds.
“And then on Monday we do a morning-after show, where we catch up on our lives and experiences and answer questions from callers,” KarenLee concludes.
