The Porn Whisperer: Sage Hunter’s Rules for a Safe & Sexy Shoot

A hardcore sweetheart shares her heartfelt technique for being a great scene partner.

A lot goes into the porn you worship. Time, sweat, craftsmanship—it’s a labor of love. But the most important ingredients? Fun, consent and compassion.

When the sex is hotter than summer asphalt, chances are the performers in question are firing on all cylinders—not just physically, but emotionally as well. Sure, it doesn’t hurt to have a bangin’ body, but to really make sparks fly on-camera requires strong people skills and a good attitude. In other words, you have to give a damn.

Fortunately for us, there’s Sage Hunter—a world-class adult performer whose erotic acumen is only matched by her relentless empathy and insatiable appetite for authentic enjoyment. When it comes to sex, consent and communication are non-negotiable; what Sage brings to the table, however, is more than just words. It’s a whole damn vibe.

So what is the magic formula for sex that looks good and feels good? HUSTLERMagazine.com goes deep into Sage’s process for a primer on the importance of emotional intelligence as she explains how great chemistry is so much more than simply going through the motions.

HUSTLERMagazine.com: From booking to shooting, clear communication throughout the process is essential. Let’s start at the beginning—please describe those critical first steps that lay the groundwork for a great experience.

Sage Hunter: I have an agent, so that’s usually my first point of contact in the process. Right away, make sure you’re okay with whatever you’re being booked to do. Talk to the director and your scene partner(s) to discuss boundaries, do’s and don’ts, etc. The more specific you are the better, otherwise a simple misunderstanding can ruin everything. For example, I can get face-fucked or deepthroat someone, but do not try to make me puke (there is a big difference, don’t even think about it). If you have an agent, they need to know your boundaries, likes and dislikes; if you don’t, then you need to be proactive in communicating what you do and don’t do. I don’t shoot anal, so my agent knows to never book me for an anal scene. Once everyone is on the same page, then there should be no surprises when it’s time to shoot.
