Pay Attention, Dummy!

Why your woman is likely to dump your ass for someone else—and how you can avoid it.

Married men often have no freaking clue that their wives are on the prowl for some strange until it’s too late. Rest assured, there is some poor fool sitting on a barstool right now, drowning his sorrows because he just found out that his wife of however many years—the mother of his children,  even!—has been cheating on him. This, naturally, is every husband’s worst nightmare: that someone taller, better looking, more fit, funnier and smarter will swoop in and snag the missus while they aren’t looking. It happens every day. Do you really think that 50% of marriages end in divorce simply because the man of the house doesn’t do the dishes or know how to fold laundry? Well, maybe that’s some of it, but all too often, the real reason those nuptials get ruptured and left in a cesspool of hurt feelings and regret is infidelity.

But why?

Plenty of men have come to believe that women are just inherently evil and will go to the ends of the universe to break their hearts, ruin their lives and suck them dry with child support. They suspect that the second a man works too many hours or fails to uphold some unrealistic expectation, their bride goes looking for the trap door. “I’ve been married and divorced three times,” Tony, a 45-year-old from Springfield, Illinois, tells HUSTERMagazine.com. “In each relationship, I tried really hard not to do the thing that my ex said was the cause of my last divorce. But they’re all different. You can’t win.”

Maintaining a marriage might seem hopeless. However, a recent survey from Ashley Madison, a dating site for the unhappily married looking to cheat, shines some light on what’s really going on with all this infidelity business. Come to find out, the missus isn’t necessarily the spawn of Satan looking to wreck lives—she just wants the passion back in the relationship, like in the beginning. Yep, nearly 70% of married women claim they are using the site simply because they’re not getting the attention and sex they were when they first got together with their husbands. Interestingly, these ladies don’t want a divorce. They just feel unappreciated and sexually frustrated. If their husbands don’t catch on fast, it won’t be long before they’re under another dude.
