Nicoletta Heidegger wants to help you fuck smarter with her podcast Sluts and Scholars. We spent some time with the therapist and sex guru to learn more about her mission.
I go into my interview with Nicoletta Heidegger wanting to like her, I really do, but she nearly goes too far when she begins to explain the genesis of her podcast’s name, Sluts and Scholars.
“I was actually at the spa with Nina Hartley. We were talking about how hard it was for her to teach or do sex ed because of her porn past and I said, ‘It sucks that one can’t be both a slut and a scholar,’” Nicoletta recalls.
As a podcasting origin story I realize that is a hell of a tale, but then Ms. Heidegger almost loses me when she blithely adds, “It was a Korean spa, so of course we were naked….”
Getting naked with Nina Hartley has been this reporter’s raison d’être since about 1982—whether in a Korean spa, a Korean restaurant, or, hell, even Korea itself—so the fact the cheeky 28-year-old podcaster casually reveals that she’d already lived my failed dream might’ve doomed our relationship. Happily, however, it all works out in the end, if only because during my long chat with Nicoletta she proves herself to be one cool chick.
