Make it a Valentine’s Day to remember with the Mausoleum Makeout Marathon film festival. Pucker up, cinephiles!

It’s time to take back Valentine’s Day. Often discounted as a soulless, corporate cash-grab, February 14 is a holiday of dubious distinction in cynical times. But one hopeless romantic wants to change all that with a film festival for lovers and the lascivious alike—sealed with a kiss!

The Mausoleum Makeout Marathon film festival [MMM] is curated by Philadelphia-based fetish model, actor, filmmaker and photographer Zoe Angeli, AKA Ossuary Angel (“Chills ‘n’ Thrills: The Unholy Union of Porn and Horror,” May 2022 issue). The rules of submission are simple: all films must feature a kiss, be it lip-on-lip, lip-on-boot or otherwise.

And if you can’t make it in person, don’t worry, because Zoe has you covered (see below for online viewing options). HUSTLERMagazine.com popped a breath mint for an up-close chat with the beguiling Ms. Angeli about passion, longing and the sublime joy of receiving a Valentine’s Day card.

HUSTLERMagazine.com: The first time we spoke, I was interviewing you about your work as an actor in the vampire film Vania (2019, SamHel Films). Now you’re curating your own film festival—is this the inaugural edition of MMM?

Zoe Angeli: Yes! This is also my first time running a film festival, and of course I had to do it at my favorite media space in Philly: the PhilaMOCA! Last year I did a romance movie marathon at the same location—it sold out the night of the show. We actually had people standing because we had run out of seats! And that’s what inspired me to launch MMM. Truthfully though, I just want to watch people make out for three hours.

When I first started out in front of the camera, it was with micro projects that stemmed from my custom content. Vania felt like a dream; since then, I’ve had the opportunity to act in so many fun films, even co-writing my own! Last year, my first short film—Incantation of Matter—was screened in Germany at the Final Girls Berlin Film Festival, while my feature debut, Coven of the Black Cube, will make its premiere in Berlin this summer. I love being a part of this community, and with MMM I really wanted to push my filmmaker friends to do something special!
