The neo-psychedelia mainstays are striding toward the future with a deluxe reissue of a classic album and a new record in the works.
As part of California’s Paisley Underground scene, Rain Parade—alongside like-minded bands such as The Bangles, The Three O’Clock and Dream Syndicate—helped shape a ’60s-inspired wave of brilliant music. Formed by college friends Matt Piucci, David Roback and Steven Roback, Rain Parade delivered jangly power-pop goodness—a perfect example being their second album Crashing Dream, which recently received the deluxe treatment with an expanded reissue.
HUSTLERMagazine.com caught up with Matt Piucci to chat about the early days, losing David and being worshipped by British bands of the ’90s.

HUSTLERMagazine.com: Are you okay being interviewed by us?
Matt Piucci: Never in my life would I have guessed someone from HUSTLER Magazine would be calling me to talk about this band some 40 years on. It’s super flattering.
Do you have any history with Larry Flynt?
No. I saw the movie. I always respected Mr. Flynt’s stance as a First Amendment advocate.
