The apex cougar recently sat down with HUSTLER to discuss sex work, taboo porn, her love of barbarian movies and the art of animated adult entertainment.
HUSTLER: Take us through your journey in sex work.
PENNY BARBER: Oh, boy. In 2003, I had just turned 18—I had nothing. I had my body, and I liked sex, so I was like, Why not? And it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Would 100,000% do it again. No shade to my lovely husband, but he did everything the way you were supposed to. He went to college, he got a stable job and everything, and now he works for me. So it’s hard for me to feel bad about making the decision to work in adult.
What is a typical day like for Penny Barber? How much goes into the behind-the-scenes work—the editing, social media, advertising?
So yesterday I had sort of a day off, which meant that I was up at 5:30. I was in the gym for an hour and a half. I had to go shopping, trying to find lingerie, which is actually very difficult! Everything is sheer these days [laughs]. When you want to take photos, you can’t have anything showing, so it’s going through all these stores trying to find something opaque, which is difficult. People laugh, but I’m like, “No, it’s hard to find something that is flattering, fits you and is opaque.”
