The electro-pop renegade talks Björk, “barf buckets” and her intriguing new album, A6.
Valerie Anne Poxleitner is Lights, a Canadian electro-pop songstress who has just released her sixth album A6. She sat down with us to discuss how she became Lights, the burdens of touring as a Canadian in Trump’s annex-hungry America (warning: there are “barf buckets”), consensual hookups and loving Björk.

Lights: Yes, of course. Let’s go. I’m excited.
How is your current U.S. tour going?
Our whole tour got racked with stomach flu. It was rough. There were barf buckets on stage. But we’re better now. We live in a germ tube. That’s what we call it. (Laughs.) It’s the life for me.
As a Canadian artist, is touring harder now with Trump threatening to annex Canada?
