Jack Black: Three-Quarters Erect!

The School of Rock star talks about the enduring legacy of Ronnie James Dio, what’s next for his band Tenacious D and just how excited he is to speak with us.

A bowling alley in the San Fernando Valley is probably the last place you would expect to find a collection of world-class rock stars and well-known actors. Especially on a Thursday! But this was no ordinary evening at Pinz bowling alley in Studio City, California. The gathering of ball-rolling luminaries were there for a good cause, fighting cancer, all in memory of the late Ronnie James Dio, the legendary vocalist who sadly lost his own battle with cancer in 2010.

Among the famous faces was Jack Black, the kinetic comic actor and leader of comedy rock duo Tenacious D. HUSTLERMagazine.com caught up with him on the red carpet at the annual Bowl for Ronnie charity event.  He was dressed as loudly as possible to “stand up and shout” about everything from his love for and relationship with Ronnie James Dio, his reaction to being interviewed by HUSTLER and the return of his band, the mighty Tenacious D!

HUSTLERMagazine.com: Are you okay being interviewed by Hustler?

Jack Black: I’m already three-quarters erect. Just the thought of it has me three-quarters erect.

That outfit you’re wearing has everyone here three-quarters erect.

(Laughs.) I did go through three T-shirts before I landed on this one.  I knew I was wearing the (Dio-branded) jacket.  Come on. It’s Ronnie James Dio time. I do have some regret about the shoes. I should have worn green shoes.
