The Living Colour singer talks groupies, his quest to find Elvis’ toilet and his new band, Sonic Universe.
The voice of Corey Glover is an unmistakable sonic wonder. As lead singer of Living Colour since 1984, Glover has led that breakthrough band through six brilliant studio albums, endless tours and a handful of MTV music awards for their smash hit “Cult of Personality.” In 2024, Living Colour continues to play to sold-out audiences around the world.
While all that may be enough for your average singer, Corey is not content to do just one thing. Which must be why he not only was part of the “A Bowie Celebration” concerts but is also teaming up with guitarist Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob) to form a new band, Sonic Universe. HUSTLERMagazine.com caught up with Glover in New York to discuss Sonic Universe, his love of David Bowie and his quest to find Elvis’ toilet at Graceland.
HUSTLERMagazine.com: Are you cool doing a HUSTLER interview?
Corey Glover: Absolutely.
Do you have any history with the magazine or Larry Flynt?
I drove past the club in Cincinnati once. That’s it.
