In 2011, HUSTLER Magazine introduced the world to Butcher Babies. As the writer of that interview, I deemed the duo of Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd “The Hottest Band in the World.” A decade later, I stand by my words. In the 10 years since we first spoke the band has grown, releasing a couple of solid albums and an EP of brilliant and blistering covers.
For those unfamiliar with the band, they combine driving hard rock with horror-cinema gore and a heaping helping of unbridled sexuality. They often perform live scantily clad and covered in fake blood. What is not to love?
I reunited with Carla and Heidi for their third HUSTLER interview to discuss, among many other topics, being born inside-out and carrying around a grandmother’s ashes.
