The son of rock legend Frank Zappa discusses his father’s work, the greatness of Dio, his own future musical ambitions and the joy of holograms.
During his lifetime, Frank Zappa created a catalog of music unlike anyone before or after him. But we are sure if asked, like most dads he would probably say his greatest creations were his children. Among them, two daughters—Moon and Diva—and two sons, Dweezil and Ahmet.
HUSTLERMagazine.com caught up with Ahmet Zappa recently at a red-carpet charity event in the name of Ronnie James Dio to support cancer research to discuss the late “Rainbow in the Dark” rocker, hologram shows, Frank’s seemingly never-ending catalog and Ahmet’s own future musical ambitions.
HUSTLERMagazine.com: Are you okay being interviewed by HUSTLER?
Ahmet Zappa: Absolutely!
Do you have any history with the magazine or our founder Larry Flynt?
I don’t, but my dad certainly did. He and Larry were friends.
