Siray Kong has been blessed with more than beauty and charm. Her mother, who fled from war-ravaged Cambodia to neighboring Thailand, was languishing in a refugee camp when Siray was born. But thanks to the goodwill of a Minnesota church, she and her mom were soon living near the Twin Cities.

Ms. Kong has now established herself as a model and swimsuit designer, but the 5-foot-1 delight is also a dedicated humanitarian. “Twenty percent of everything I make goes toward putting together my nonprofit, A Piece of Sunshine,” Siray relates. “I want to give back to my home country by fighting child prostitution in Cambodia, as well as providing clothing, nourishment, information on homeopathic medicine and spiritual guidance.”
