Give Peace a Chance
The best thing about President Donald Trump, at least up to this point, is that he doesn’t seem willing to go to war with Russia. That’s a good thing because Russia still possesses almost half of the world’s nuclear weapons, and like ours, they’re always on hair-trigger alert. A miscalculation could end all life on this planet in a matter of hours.
That’s an all-too-obvious point lost on many Democrats still looking to blame anyone except their tone-deaf candidate Hillary Clinton for her startling loss in the 2016 Presidential election. Embittered by the outcome, Trump’s legion of enemies have spun quite a few unproven allegations about his nefarious Russian connections, but there’s a flip side to the coin: Our otherwise intemperate and untutored President seems to grasp the notion that stoking a new Cold War with post-Communist Russia is frightfully dangerous.
Unfortunately, most of the mainstream media have downplayed this important point. Even worse, they’ve also joined the Russia-bashing bandwagon, making them crazier than the President himself, who most of the “progressive” folk I hang out with love to hate. This is particularly true for those who were “ready for Hillary” and can’t get over the bitter aftertaste of the election.
