Raw 40

Raw 40 just might be XXX video that the COVID-19 era deserves. With so many of us basically living on the couch in sweatpants, there’s something familiar about the no-frills approach and barely existent production values in this latest video testament to Manuel Ferrara’s seemingly inexhaustible libido. Which isn’t necessarily a good thing. For those who’ve spent the last year cooped up at home as each day unfolds exactly like the last, a two-disc set that was seemingly filmed entirely in the same nondescript room with a mostly stationary camera might feel a little too familiar. Still, even as it unfolds at the self-indulgent pace of a Ken Burns documentary,Raw 40 isn’t without its merits. Petite fuck puppet Jane Wilde, for instance, is always a treat, and her scene here is no exception. Wilde seems particularly eager for an anal pummeling—coronavirus cabin fever, maybe?—and Ferrara is plenty eager to dole one out. The scene plays out like nature-documentary footage of a lion pouncing on a gazelle. Blond dong-gobbler Kit Mercer’s tits are of seriously suspect origin, but her body is drum-tight; she clearly hasn’t spent the last 11 months binging on Netflix and Funyuns. (Note to self: Buy more Funyuns.) Things grind to a boner-deflating halt with skull-faced Franken-blonde Casca Akashova, who appears to have emerged from a crypt of some kind to film her scene. Luckily, bombshell brunette Skylar Vox swoops in to save the day with her jaw-dropping, all-natural dairy domes and equally sizable sex drive. Raw 40 could use a little more heat, but it might well suit your taste. —P.D.R.
