I Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore
Conventional wisdom about Donald Trump and elections is always right—except when it isn’t.
As we go to press, it seems an all-but-foregone conclusion to most that Donald Trump will become the Republican Party’s 2024 Presidential nominee for a rematch against President Joe Biden.
Short of an illness—or worse—befalling Biden, there is little question that he will be on the November ballot. But when it comes to Trump…well, to quote the great “poet” REO Speedwagon, “I can’t fight this feeling anymore.”
My feeling is neither a prediction, nor even a hope. It’s just a feeling—a Spidey Sense, if you will—that the disgraced, four-time-indicted former President may not be running come Election Day.
I realize the odds are that he will be running. If I was forced to lay a bet, I’d have to put money on it. But still, there’s that feeling.
