Trump: The World’s Biggest Hypocrite

“Some people consider me the hypocrisy police,” Larry Flynt was fond of saying. Exposing hypocrisy was at the heart of HUSTLER cartoons and a clear motive behind Flynt’s revelations of the money-grubbing Moral Majority, infidelities of incoming House Speaker Bob Livingston, and accusations against Republicans Bob Barr, David Vitter… and the list goes on, such that getting “Flynted” entered the political lexicon.
My husband was well aware of the danger Donald Trump posed when he ran an ad in The Washington Post in 2017 offering $10 million for information leading to Trump’s impeachment. But I think even he might be surprised at the audacity of this second term, when the President’s duplicity has become so constant, it is now the expected norm.
But just because it’s the norm does not mean it should be glossed over. Quite the opposite. The world’s biggest hypocrite needs to be called out for each and every instance of hypocrisy. As I write, the Jeffrey Epstein drama is unfolding, with Trump doing a complete 180 on his campaign promise to supporters to release “the Epstein files.”
