The Status Quo Must Go!
The November election results hammered home one important point resoundingly: If the Democratic Party is to take back the House this year and the Presidency in 2028, the status quo must go!
Democrats scored huge wins in Virginia, New Jersey and New York City. In fact, both Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill crushed their competition by double digits to be elected governors of Virginia and New Jersey respectively. Spanberger and Sherrill are moderates, while New York’s new mayor, Zohran Mamdani, is a progressive Democratic Socialist. What are the common denominators? Youth—Mamdani was 34, Spanberger 46 and Sherrill 53 at the time of the election. But more than that, they spoke to Americans about issues we all care about: Affordability. Being able to make ends meet every month. The belief that if you work hard, you can put food on the table, a roof over your family’s head and live a good life.
