The Alt-Right Is Not All Right
The Tea Party movement has morphed into what is known as the “alt-right”—the insurgency that nominated their hero, Donald Trump, and upset the ambitions of Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and the rest of the GOP clown car. The alt-right hates the entire Washington establishment—especially beltway conservatives that they call “cuckservatives”—almost as much as they hate Democrats and the Left. And although the leading spokesmen deny it, virulent white racism, misogyny and hostility to immigrants are key strains in the movement.
The alt-right does have some common ground with the Bernie Sanders Left: They are against the free-trade agreements that have devastated blue-collar America, and they oppose the Neocon interventionist foreign policy that has wrecked the Middle East and cost a fortune in blood and treasure.
