No Justice: Today’s Supreme Court
American democracy will be but a fond memory if Donald Trump is elected President this November. With its July ruling, the Supreme Court has handed the man permission to do whatever the fuck he wants with complete immunity!
The ruling granted “presidents in general a definitive ‘absolute immunity’ from prosecution for core official acts and said presidents should be presumed immune for a much more expansive list of acts,” CNN noted. In her scathing dissent, Justice Sotomayor wrote that the Court “effectively creates a law-free zone around the President” and elevates POTUS to “a king above the law.” Further, she warns that the ruling made her “fear for our democracy.”
