About 450 streakers rode 18 miles through Los Angeles to support World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR), a global grassroots movement held every June in cities around the world to raise awareness about traffic pollution and oil dependency. The Los Angeles Police Department provided escorts for the jubilant group of bikers, skaters and rollerbladers, who enthusiastically embraced WNBR’s “bare as you dare” and “express yourself” dress code. Applauding onlookers were equally enthusiastic—many in the crowd dropped trou in solidarity.
Designed to be inclusive and friendly to all ages, genders and types, the organization’s website devoted an entire section to explaining that the “anything goes” spirit of the day did have limits: No cock rings. No fetish gear. And definitely no erections: “When people are going to be naked in public for the first time, a common question is, ‘What if I get an erection?’ That’s actually quite unlikely—you may be surprised at how quickly it feels completely normal for everyone around you to be naked! However, if it does happen, then just put your pants back on until it goes away.” Spotter cars followed the cyclists to assist folks in need of rest and equipment repair, including, perhaps, boner deflation.
