Miela hasn’t been able to step foot on our shores just yet, but the eye-catching Czech has always been enchanted by the good old USA. “I’m totally obsessed with American movies,” she reveals. “Tarantino is my favorite director. I think Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown are great.”

Despite being born and raised thousands of miles away, Miela has been tuned into America’s pop culture for as long as she can remember. “It’s funny,” she notes. “I saw all the same movies and heard all the same songs American kids did, but I wouldn’t know about stuff until months after it was cool.”

For Miela, there was an added benefit to spending so many hours in her hometown’s small cinema. “I probably learned to speak English more from watching Back to the Future ten times one summer than I did in my actual language class at school,” she confesses.

Miela thinks that she’ll venture to the States soon. “I’m really eager to see the whole country,” the film aficionada gushes. “My dream would be to spend a few weeks driving all over— maybe I’d do a road trip from New York to L.A. I wouldn’t want to do it alone, though. I think I’ve seen too many horror movies for that!”
