Alyssa Branch marches to the beat of her own drum. “I’m not the type of person who’s always worried about fitting in,” she explains. “I’m naturally very opinionated and outgoing, and I want to be true to myself.”

Music is a big part of Alyssa’s life. This independent spirit has eclectic taste, citing the Rolling Stones, Adele and teenage female rapper Kitty Pryde as her current obsessions. “I start listening to music the second I wake up,” Alyssa notes. “It’s like my life has a soundtrack.”

When there’s nothing to listen to, the Motor City babe loves belting out tunes herself. “I’m proud of my voice,” Alyssa says. “There are a couple of clips on the Internet, but I haven’t really pursued it professionally. Even just singing in the shower brings me a lot of joy.”

Her other interests include hiking, going to comedy clubs and keeping an eye on the latest fashion trends. “I try to be as stylish as possible without spending every penny on clothes,” Alyssa avows. “I would love to go to one of those super-elegant runway shows in Paris someday. I think those things are so cool.”
