Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth is no stranger to HUSTLER. Over the years, the extreme dark metal goth singer has visited us in person twice. For this, his third interview, we had to do it remotely. (Since we are still all doing everything remotely.) We caught up with Dani Filth from his haunted mansion to discuss the evolution of Cradle, “hedge porn” and the band’s upcoming new album Existence Is Futile.
HUSTLERMagazine.com: Do you remember the first time you ever saw a HUSTLER?
Dani Filth: I found a copy in a plastic bag in a hedge. As a youth living in a quaint English village and before the wondrous delights of the Internet et al., “hedge porn” used to be a real thing. Basically, it was where men hid their stashes of girlie mags away from prying eyes, in secluded wooded spots where one wouldn’t get caught masturbating!
The band has gone through so many members. How do you determine if someone is right to play with you?
Because they’re already in the band!
When key members left the band, did you ever think, That’s it for the group?
